Tropical marine setting on the margins of the Iapetus Ocean
Under a warm Silurian sun, a shallow tropical sea gently laps against a stony shoreline. The clear, blue-green water reveals a seafloor of fine silty mud, dotted with a few pale rock outcrops. Beyond the quiet surf, low hills of mud and gravel rise, mostly barren and devoid of trees or greenery. Only patches of primitive algae cling to damp rock surfaces along the water’s edge.
